 Families looking to escape the rat race in the Geelong region are pushing demand for properties in the Surf Coast hinterland and Barrabool Hills.

It’s sparked a flurry of big sales in a ring of locations about 20 minutes from Geelong in recent days, including a 4ha lifestyle property at Gherang that smashed price hopes by more than $300,000.
